Edukick Player Spotted by Rovers’ Scout

EduKick Football Soccer Academy player Aykhan was spotted by a Rovers’ scout at our recent showcase event on Monday 21, October. He’s now attending a trial at the English Championship club, Blackburn Rovers FC.

Director of Football, Mick Brennan, was very proud to take Aykhan up to the Rovers training ground at Brockhall Blackburn, especially because Mr. Brennan has ties with the club. Mick Brennan was Head of the Community at Blackburn Rovers FC, the club he and his dad have supported all their lives, prior to becoming a joint founder of EduKick Football Soccer Academy.

Getting this type of opportunity is great for our young players. It allows them to see first hand how they measure up against the best young football talents in the UK right now. Academy places are few and far between, young players work very hard to show they have got what it takes.” Said Brennan.

Aykhan is enrolled full-time at Abbey College Manchester, studying for his GCSEs. He has been living and studying in Manchester since September this year and trains 3 times per week with the EduKick Football Soccer Academy squad.

If you would like to join Aykhan and take your game to the next level whilst you complete your studies towards university entrance, take a look at more details of exactly how you can make that happen here.

Championship Players To Provide Guest Coaching at Edukick

EduKick Football Soccer Academy is excited to announce that tomorrow, during our scheduled training session, we will host current Championship players. These players will be leading the session as part of their coaching education programme with the PFA (Professional Footballers Association).

Notable professionals such as Peter Schmeichel, Quinton Fortune, and Michael Carrick have previously been down for the training sessions to lead the coaching with the players.

Mick Brennan, Director of Football said:

“Once again this represents a fantastic opportunity for all the players on the EduKick Football Soccer Academy programme. The relationship that we enjoy with the coach education department at the PFA is marvellous. Just a few weeks ago we were able to go along to one of the Manchester United training facilities to take part in a programme, and tomorrow we will have some top players from the English Championship at our training ground to lead the session.”

Edukick Players Play a Friendly Match against Bolton Wanderers FC

The EduKick Football Soccer Academy 1st Team played a friendly fixture against a local Bolton Wanderers FC youth side. We were 3-0 up by the half time whistle, yet this competitive game ended 3-3.

One thing that stood out was the performance given by EduKick Football Soccer Academy player, Aykhan. He certainly attracted all the right kind of attention with this beautifully taken strike that gave the BWFC keeper no chance at all. We wish Aykhan all the very best and hope that he can maintain this excellent form throughout the season.

Match Report:

EduKick Football Soccer Academy started the game well. However, against the run of play, Bolton sneaked the early lead with a well-worked goal on the counter-attack. Just before halftime from a corner, Jonathan delivered a great ball to Aykhan at the back post who converted it with a well-placed header. After a pep-talk at halftime, we started the second half as the better team and from a moment of brilliance from Aykhan from the left-wing, he cut inside and hit a forty-yard strike into the far top corner.

Potentially goal of the season. A few minutes after that, Jonathan scored from a second phase of play from a corner ball. Very comfortable in the game, EduKick Football Soccer Academy conceded a sloppy set-play from distance which gave Bolton the motivation to get back in the game. The final score was 3-3 and this is probably a fair result.

Man of the Match: Aykhan

Edukick Champions League Football at the Etihad Stadium

Last night the EduKick Football Soccer Academy visited the Eithad stadium to see Manchester City emphatically beat Italian Serie A team, Atalanta, 5-1. With a hat trick from Raheem Sterling in the first half, the match was quite an experience.

BTEC 1st year student player, Prakash, summed it up well when he said: “Two goals in ten minutes! That was good. And the atmosphere is something different. It feels unreal, you know.”

If you would like to study every morning and train at an FA affiliated football academy every afternoon, play competitive matches as a team and showcase your skills to professional football clubs of all levels, then apply today.

Young EduKick Footballer Takes First Step Toward His Dream

Sergej was always a highly motivated student player. Even before he arrived in Manchester he was very enthusiastic about his opportunity to train, play and study at Edukick Football Soccer Academy Football Academy. He has grasped every chance that has come his way whilst he has been there.

The summer Talent I.D. Programme at Edukick Football Soccer Academy was an ideal introduction for Sergej and highlighted all the ways that the academy can help him to take his game to the next level. He has already noticed a difference in the level of football coaching that he has received since being at Edukick Football Soccer Academy compared to what he is used to back home:

Training has been great, better than in Ukraine. Here the training is harder, more harder than in Ukraine.

Sergej has also had a guided tour of Old Trafford, the home stadium of his beloved Manchester United FC; he has been to the National Football Museum, played in a mini- 4 aside tournament, played in friendly matches against another local academy, and been on full day excursions with his fellow players each Saturday. All a part of the Talent I.D. Programme.

Young EduKick Footballer Shows Promise in a 2 Week Training Program

Sam has come over to Edukick Football Soccer Academy with his dad and was initially enrolled onto the 2 week Talent I.D. Programme. However, things have gone well for Sam so he has decided to stay and train with us further.

Sam stood out for his great vision and technical skill. His ability to play well with his head up at all times and his ability to read the game intelligently. He has been identified as a strong central midfield player. A slight change of position for him, but one suggested by his coaches.

I’m learning how to find space more, my awareness is improving, and I think my confidence is improving, too.

As a result, Sam has been invited to train with two local clubs in the pre-season, which will give him further opportunity to demonstrate exactly what he can bring to a team.

During an interview, Sam reflects on the differences that he has noticed playing in the UK, vis a vis Australia.

Here the game is a bit more intense, people are more aggressive, they tend to press more.

Sam displays a confident, positive yet humble approach when reflecting upon his performance and this attitude will certainly endear him to the coaches and to the scouts.

McDonald trains with Notwane FC, a Botswana premier league club

Check out this interview with McDonald of EduKick Manchester, where he discusses invatation to Notwane FC.

The coaches at Notwane had been able to follow McDonald’s progress at Edukick Football Soccer Academy at Ellesmere College last year and so they invited him to train with them whilst he was home over the summer.

McDonald embraced the challenge that this opportunity presented him:

The standard was very high because I was playing with people much older than me. There was a lot on the line. The players were playing to win the league and I had to try and adjust to it so I could be part of the team.

McDonald feels sure that his first year with Edukick Football Soccer Academy helped him a lot to adapt to the level of football which he has experienced this summer. He also gives credit to his coaches for preparing him for this big step up.

Edukick Footballer Receives Support While Recovering

Check out this interview with Elijah of EduKick Manchester, where he discusses the difficulties he’s overcoming!

Whilst back home in Kenya over the Easter holiday, Elijah suffered a broken toe whilst playing football. This meant him having to miss full training and match play for the last couple of months. It’s been tough for him not being able to train with the rest of the squad and it’s clear that he’s felt down about it.

However, in the interview he talks about the many sources of support that he has been able to draw upon during this difficult time; his team mates, his coaches, the school staff and his gym trainer. They have all been there for him when he needed them and each has played their part in helping him through.

I have my team mates to thank for being in the right mental state, they have been supportive. They tell me to keep working hard, you’re going to be back soon, you’ll come back stronger. They’ve been there for me when I need them.

So, Elijah has put his time to good use and with guidance from his coaches has been working on developing his tactical awareness whilst being unable to play.

Elijah acknowledges that without the support network he has had around him he would have probably quit by now. At Edukick Football Soccer Academy we understand the ups and downs that come with intensive sport training and match play and are able to work with our young athletes to ensure that they carry the strong mental attitude that encourage them to bring to the game also to everything in life that happens off the pitch, too.

As a player my technical skills have really flourished. I’ve made some good friends here that I know are always going to be there for me throughout life. I’ve developed good maturity skills and I’m just happy with how far I’ve come.

If you feel that you could thrive in the Edukick Football Soccer Academy environment, or you are a parent and can imagine your son or daughter taking full advantage of all that we offer here, contact us now to start to discuss how to apply. It’s time to start your adventure.
